MelanatedMama Product Review: Haakaa 90ml silicone breast pump breastfeeding manual breast pump BPA free. I'm in a few breastfeeding groups on Facebook groups on Facebook. For weeks this product kept popping up as the newest must have for breastfeeding moms. So, finally I decided to give it a try. Purpose: the purpose of this product is to catch the milk from the letdown from the opposite breast not being used during nursing or pumping. How does it work? The design is simple and user friendly. Position the Haakaa on the entire nipple and breast and create a suction that's comfortable. Wait for the let down and watch the milk drip into the Haakaa. Thoughts: I used this while nursing my son. It was quite the workout, it took a few tries to get the perfect suction and to distract my son. But once we were settled the experience was pretty cool! While I nursed the Haakaa caught 2.5 oz of milk. Im interested in how much milk It will catch when I'm pumping on one side. I hate pumping both breasts at one time so this product makes sense for me especially with encouraging a let down. If I were to give this grade I would give it a B+. It takes some getting use to and the suction isn't a strong a one. It requires frequent readjustments. If you're a mama that has an over flow, and produces a lot of milk this product would be great for you. Would I recommend this product? Yes! This list is no particular order- but if you are scrambling trying to find the perfect Mother's day gift try shopping local and Black owned...

I have been looking and looking for a product that allows my son to sit up and stay occupied long enough for me to get stuff done around the house l... after purchasing other products that didn't meet my expectation I have finally found one that he enjoys!!!!
The Fisher-Price sit-me-up floor seat is EVERYTHING I needed!!! It was super easy to assemble (requiring no tools) and It literally took me 8 minutes to snap a few pieces in place! It even collapse folds for easy storage or transporting!!! The tray can also serve as play station and a place for snacks. At $39.98 I say it was well worth it!!! Listen, this Nose Frida has proven to be everything plus more- a miracle worker! My son has had a stuffy nose for about a 3 weeks and sound oh so horrible whenever he cried... poor thing. To cure him from the snot pile up I used what my momma used... that white squeegee ball thing. Ya know the one that comes included in every newborn baby kit. I have a few mama friends who were users of the Nose Frida and spoke highly of its ability to remove snot. so i bought one... retail at about $15 I decided to make the investment in a baby gadget that would actually work. ... and guess what it works!!!! its a weird process of blowing out snot but listen... IT WORKS!!!! The baby aisle is a trap for new mamas... clever marketing would have you thinking you need all these useless baby gadgets. If you are a mama and you own a Nose Frida share your thoughts and tricks you've learned along the way. 3 years ago I used arts and craft materials to create letter name plates for my daughters name. Fast forward to today those letters need some updating along with an entirely new set. My sun will be here in about 3 weeks.
The new co-ed mursery/toddler room has a brand new theme ans color scheme. Meaning its time to make new letters. The theme this time around is African themed with yellow and grey as the accent wall colors. I am excited about making new letters...even though i went from having to make 5 to 13 letter name plates. FINALLY, MY DAUGHTER'S AWAY BAG is packed.
Planning for the arrival of my sun has been one overwhelming task. My hospital bag is packed, my diaper bag is packed and now my daughter's. I managed to pull this off during the wee hours of the morning when i cant sleep. The plan is for her to stay with her "godma godma" (god mother) and gigi (grandma). To make this a seamless and worry free time for both godma, gigi and Marli i have included some cool tips for packing for a toddler!! First off, use zip loc bags. Little people's clothes are still small enough to fit in gallon size zip loc bags. And this makes it easier to keep up with outfits and what ever accessories goes along with it I have planned for 3 days of outfits with 1 oops outfit for any mishaps or accidents. Each bag has an ID card that outlines the bag content and other specific instructions. Each bag contains the outfit and underwear with the desired shoe to accompany. The ID card also helps me and godma when its time to come home better organize all of Marli's belongings. All dirty clothing should be returned to bag and double checked against the card. That way we dont lose anything in transition. I also included a pajama bag and card with Marli's night time routine and an extra bag that includes her toothbrush, tooth paste, lotion etc. I can't wait for the kids to meet one another! And surely hope that Marli doesn't worry people too much. There is absolutely no reason to go to one of those expensive maternity or baby depot stores when Walmart has exactly the same thing…for much cheaper.
Being 25 weeks pregnant has taken a toll on my body. They say each pregnancy is different and surely the second time around has had its own story to tell. During my first pregnancy my breast were huge and almost always sore. I went out to the maternity stores looking of more comfortable solutions to my sore breasts. I went out and spent well on $80 on 2 maternity bras. Fast forward to today I have since learned my lesson. WALMART. The offer a nice line, with varieties, of maternity bras at seriously affordable prices. The one in the picture above was purchased for about $8. It’s super comfortable and able to accommodate my future nursing requirements once baby Kingston gets here. Before you travel to large baby depot and maternity stories, check out Walmart’s brand and see if it fits your expectations. I know for me it fit my budget and that was a straight winner for me.
